Welcome! I am excited to work with your child this year! It is a pleasure to be back at Schnecksville, and I look forward to meeting you. This is my fourth year of teaching in Parkland Schools. Last year, I taught in second grade at Jaindl Elementary for the first marking period, and then finished the year at Fogelsville Elementary in first grade. Two years ago, I served as  substitute teacher in second grade at Schnecksville and then in the DRP/Title 1 Program for grades 3, 4, and 5. Prior to that, I was a summer reading teacher at Weisenberg Elementary.

First Grade is a tremendous time of growth for children! Having just taught in second grade, I know where our students need to be academically for success next year and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to guide them.

I obtained my teaching certification in grades Pre-K to 4 from Muhlenberg College in 2014, and added grades 5 and 6 in 2017. Teaching is a second career for me, but was a large part of my first career in the business world. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Kentucky in journalism with a French minor. I worked in the tourism and hotel industry for several years.  After we relocated to the Lehigh Valley, I began volunteering in my children’s schools and was hooked on teaching. The rest is history!

My husband, Chip, and I have three children: Lauren 17, Will 14, and Katie 11. We love to travel, play sports, go to the theater, garden and take care of our animals. We live on a small farm with chickens and gardens. Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies! I enjoy making new recipes from the produce, especially fresh salsas and pasta sauces. I also enjoy coaching girls basketball through the Parkland Recreational League.
